Headstone Shapes
Traditional cemetery headstones are long, vertical stone slabs with an arched top. There are also gravestone markers that lay flat on the ground. We offer our customers with more than the standard grave headstone with an arch or flat gravestone marker. As a custom headstone provider, we have other shapes available. Here are jus a few shapes you can choose from:
- Upright Monument – a rectangular stone called a die, sits on a flat, rectangular base. Top cuts can be rectangular, square, teardrop, or oval. Edges of the stone can be rounded, squared off, or even left unfinished

- Cross – a custom-cut upright headstone in the shape of a cross
- Heart – a custom-cut flat grave marker in the shape of a heart
Headstone Colors

Photos
There are two types of photos that families can put on their loved one’s headstone. The first type of photo is a porcelain picture and the second type is an etched picture.
A porcelain picture is made by printing a photograph onto a ceramic tile. The ink used to print the picture onto the ceramic tile is fade resistant. The plaque permanently attaches to the headstone or grave marker.
If you want to attach a plaque with a porcelain picture to your loved one’s tombstone, choose a picture with high resolution. While color pictures are the most common for porcelain plaques, you can also choose a black and white image. As your headstone provider, we will assist you with the ordering process.
If you don’t want a plaque, you might be more interested in having a portrait of your loved one etched onto the headstone. You can also choose to have a landscape or other image etched on the headstone. Examples of etchings include:
